Embracing Gratitude

The Power of Gratitude

Are you keen on cultivating a more positive mindset? Let me share my personal journey with gratitude, which has been an absolute game-changer.

While I've always incorporated gratitude into my life, it wasn't until I intentionally started keeping a gratitude journal that its transformative power truly unfolded. And guess what? It can work wonders for you too! You can kick off your gratitude practice by downloading my complimentary Gratitude Journal.

It all started when the pandemic hit 2020, locking us down and forcing us to stay home. That's when I decided to make the most of the extra time and pursue my writing passion. I dove headfirst into the world of blogging, devouring podcasts, and books along the way. Little did I know that this journey would lead me down the path of self-discovery.

The benefits of practicing gratitude kept popping up, drawing me in like a magnet. So, I made a conscious choice to embrace gratitude as one of the first intentional changes in my life on this wild ride.

Using Gratitude to Find Perspective in Parenthood

Now, as a mum to four cheeky teens, I understand the challenges that come with this stage of life. It's a rollercoaster ride that can sometimes leave you feeling like there's no light at the end of the tunnel. Don't get me wrong, my kids are legends. But, as they assert their independence and find their own path, the teenage years can throw some curveballs.

Instead of getting sucked into the whirlpool of negativity when faced with messy rooms, backtalk, and rebellious behaviour, practicing gratitude has helped me step back and appreciate the bigger picture, and even the little moments that matter. It's all about putting things into perspective.

Starting Your Journey with a Gratitude Journal

To kickstart my gratitude practice, I invested in a cute notebook that I affectionately named my Gratitude Journal. Each day, I take a few moments to jot down three things I'm grateful for. Research suggests that starting the day with gratitude sets the stage for a positive mindset. While I aim to maintain a consistent routine, life's demands occasionally get in the way, and that's OK - flexibility is key.

Using a Gratitude Journal has made a world of difference, even during the toughest times, such as enduring a global pandemic, tackling kid’s health challenges, and braving early menopause. It's given me plenty to be grateful for and it can do the same for you.

By downloading my free Gratitude Journal, you'll gain access to a wealth of inspiration, including five great ideas with examples to ignite your grateful thoughts.
